The First Tee of Northern Michigan offers a wide variety of classes and opportunities for students to learn valuable life lessons while enjoying the game of golf.  In order to register for any class, participants must first register to be a member of The First Tee of Northern Michigan.  The one-time $40 membership fee includes a First Tee gift, free use of golf equipment and is good for the entire year. Program Descriptions

PLAYer/PAR Certifying Classes

PLAYer/Par classes are for students aged 7+ who are looking to learn golf skills and progress through The First Tee program. Students will learn core values such as Honesty, Integrity, and Respect while working on their golf game. $35 per four-week session.

Birdie/Eagle Certifying Classes

Our next level in The First Tee curriculum, where students who have successfully completed PLAYer/PAR certification learn about goal-setting, working through conflicts, and planning for their futures on and off the golf course. This class also focuses on course management and refining golf skills. $35 per four-week session.

Day Camps

Day Camps meet for one-week sessions and are open to ages 7+ and all ability levels.  Day camps focus on fundamental golf and life skills within the context of The First Tee 9 Core Value curriculum and offer multiple opportunities to play on the course. $35 for each one-week session.

Intro Camps

Intro camps meet for one-week sessions and introduce students to golf who are just starting to become interested or have never played. Intro Camps offer an overview of The First Tee life skills along with basic golf skills such as, putting, chipping, and full-swing.  $35 for each one-week session.

Girls Golf

LPGA*USGA Girls Golf is the only national junior golf program that specializes in providing girl-friendly environments for youth to learn the game of golf. This classes focuses on preparing girls ages 6 – 17 for a lifetime of enjoyment of the game while also inspiring them to feel confident, build positive self-esteem and live active and healthy lives. $35 for the seven-week program.

Little Linksters

Little Linksters classes meet once a week for four-week sessions and are designed for 5-8 years old who are new to the game of golf.  Basic fundamentals will be practiced while also introducing them to some of The First Tee core values.  A fun way to get your little one interested in the game of golf.  $30 for each 4-week session.

Cuff Links Class

This class gives golfers a chance to learn scoring and different styles of golf in a fun and laid back atmosphere. Types of games students will learn include scramble, best ball, and stable ford scoring. $30 per four-week session.

Advanced Academy

Advanced Academy is for students who are looking to step up their golf game! Classes will be led by 2013 PGA Professional of the Year and The First Tee Coach, Shaun Bezilla. This class will utilize Edufii to help keep Students and Coaches connected.  Goal setting, course management, short game and full swing will be covered. $99 for the nine-week program.

Marana Webber Tost Travel League

Birdie level participants or those with approval from Coach Logan are eligible to play in these fun 9-hole tournaments on Wednesday nights. Events begin at 5:30 PM and proper golf attire and behavior is a must.  This is a summer-long cumulative competition, awarding the Marana Webber Tost Cup to the Boys’ Champion and the Girls’ Champion at the end of the season.  Cost is $15 per event.
