What’s new at The First Tee of Northern Michigan

Introducing 

The First Tee of Northern Michigan at Crystal Mountain.

The First Tee of Northern Michigan is excited to announce our new program site:  Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville, Michigan.  

Crystal Mountain and The First Tee staff will provide instruction to children ages 5-17 in a variety of certifying and introductory classes.  Participants will learn the important skills to help them succeed in life while also learning the game of golf.  

The First Tee of Northern Michigan focuses on 9 Core Values:  Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgment.  These values are included and demonstrated in lessons on basic golf skills.

Participants do best when they enroll in certifying classes and progress through the levels of PLAYer, Par, Birdie, Eagle.  

The First Tee of Northern Michigan at Crystal Mountain will offer spring certifying classes to ages 7-18 on Thursdays beginning May 7, 2015 and continuing through June 11, 2015.  This class will be offered from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.  and is open to players of all skill levels.  Participants will be grouped by age.  The session fee for this six-week certifying course is $35.

A parents clinic will be offered at the same time, allowing parents to learn the skills their children are developing.  This clinic will be taught by the Crystal Mountain professional staff.  The session fee for this five week class is $99 per adult or $150 per couple.  

Younger children are invited to try the Little Linksters classes for ages 5-6.  These are held on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. beginning on Tuesday, June 23, Tuesday, July 14, Tuesday, July 28, Tuesday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 25.  The class fee for Little Linksters is $10 per class. 

Each participant pays an annual $40 membership fee in addition to the session fee.

Registration will open on April 1, 2015.  Scholarships are available.

The First Tee of Northern Michigan Player Card is back for 2015. Once again the card will feature 26 fantastic courses in Northern Michigan.
